For someone who gets excited about almost anything, September has just been far too kind. My dates with the fabulous Irving K Barber are dwindling but my education is taking place elsewhere.
So what’s in store?
We have been waving our flags and now it’s time to revel in the presence of the man who creates music with a meaning – K’Naan. Performing on Tuesday September 21st at SFU and speaking at the UBC Chan Centre (thanks to the Terry Global Speaker Series) on Friday September 24th – that’s where I be.
“When Sistuhs Speak”…oh honey, we listen. On Thursday, September 23rd, the stage will be set at Nyala Restaurant (4148 Main Street, Vancouver) for a night of creative expression. Hosted by Colored Collective (COCO) who “seek to create a transformative and inclusive space of dialogue for colored students at the University of British Columbia (UBC),” this event promises to be a unique experience of cross-cultural learning. If you’ve got questions, they’ve got answers – give ’em a shout at firstname.lastname@example.org.
And finally, Pecha Kucha Night on September 30th. Be my date.
Yup. It’s time to clear your calendar…jussstt a little.
