Find your Passion. Choose your Cause. Make a Difference.
In December 2009, we launched the Passion Project. For what we hope will become a series of regular and ongoing Passion Projects, we have just begun.
The Passion Project is a student led initiative based at the University of British Columbia, seeking to make “passion” an integral part of everyone’s lives. In short, we set the stage for passionate people to share their passion with others.
We are more of a movement than an organization or a club that began out of the simple question, “What makes you come alive and how can you utilize your gift to make change?”
Passionate people have a contagious zest that inspires and motivates. This is a simple truth of profound importance that the Passion Project embodies and communicates. So, what do we do? We create the opportunities and provide the resources for young people to invest in and develop the extracurricular pursuits that enhance their lives while connecting these pursuits to relevant community based projects that address identified social needs in the community. Rooted in the belief that passion is catalytic and a power to transform, we are committed to engaging passion for purposeful living.
“Don’t ask what the world needs.
Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it.
Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.”
– Howard Thurman
